Job Description:

This is a hybrid role and can be worked from the Cambridge, MA, St. Petersburg, FL, Reston, VA, or Houston, TX locations.

The Supply Chain Management Specialist is a member of Property & Procurement, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager supporting the supply chain needs of the program offices.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Navigate a complex supply chain to support program needs and business strategies.
  • Build strong supplier relationships to ensure the right quality and quantity of goods are purchased at minimum cost.
  • Reduce risk by identifying and mitigating potential supplier issues, including single-sourced materials and potential shortages.
  • Participate in the product development cycle with design engineering from concept stage through production pilot for mass production.
  • Collaborate with internal program teams, quality, contracts, and other functional areas to understand unique supply chain needs.
  • Source and evaluate supplier quotes, recommend suppliers, and negotiate price, delivery, quality, service, and competitive solutions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for program-specific suppliers, facilitating supplier business relationships and performance to contractual obligations.
  • Support supply chain and contractual requirements and compliance during the proposal phase.
  • Develop the Bill of Materials (BOM), including supplier sourcing and obtaining necessary documentation for compliance.
  • Complete comprehensive supplier due diligence to ensure compliance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting supply chain risk management.
  • Manage PO data maintenance in MRP/ERP environment and resolve invoice/payment discrepancies in partnership with AP.
  • Ensure data integrity of purchased components, suppliers, and payment terms in ERP system.
  • Negotiate and settle with suppliers on damage claims, rejections, losses, returns, over shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
  • Monitor, track, and update order status and support NPI.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with program suppliers to monitor and improve performance.
  • Create and implement cost avoidance strategies to ensure best value.
  • Identify risks and negotiate strategic supplier agreements.
  • Perform other supply chain-related tasks, including logistics and inventory support.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a supply chain role.
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS acquisition requirements, related clauses, and CMMC as it relates to supplier due diligence.
  • Strong written, oral, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and in a team environment.
