Litigation Legal Assistant


Job Description

The Litigation Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting attorneys by managing a range of administrative and legal tasks associated with robust litigation cases. This includes organizing case files, drafting legal documents, overseeing case calendars, and facilitating communication among clients, experts, and court officials. We are looking for a star performer who will take the work seriously, yet still be a part of our fun Firm culture.


Legal Assistant Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Organize and maintain case files, track progress, and meet deadlines.
  • Draft, proofread, and file legal documents in compliance with court rules.
  • Conduct preliminary research and review evidence.
  • Schedule meetings and depositions; prepare clients for court procedures.
  • Organize trial materials and assist with court hearings.
  • Administrative Support: Manage case calendars, handle correspondence, and update case status.
  • File documents with the court and monitor case dockets.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal standards and procedures.
  • Assisting with general office tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the legal practice.
  • Managing Attorneys' calendars and monitoring deadlines.


Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools, Microsoft Office, Adobe, ShareFile, Excel, and Netdocs preferred.
  • Ability to organize and maintain both electronic and paper case files.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Effective time-management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing documents and managing cases.


Experience:

  • 3+ experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, particularly in litigation, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with litigation procedures, legal terminology, and case management.


Education:

  • Preferred, but not mandatory, an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.


Position Type:

  • Full-Time/Regular
  • Hybrid/One day remote work option.
  • Standard business hours, with potential for extended hours during peak litigation periods.



Salary Range:

  • 75-95k Depending on experience
