Litigation Legal Assistant

Position Overview

The Litigation Legal Assistant is integral to the success of our legal team, providing essential support to attorneys in managing a variety of administrative and legal responsibilities related to complex litigation cases. This role encompasses the organization of case documentation, drafting of legal instruments, management of case schedules, and facilitating effective communication among clients, experts, and judicial authorities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Systematically organize and maintain case files, ensuring timely tracking of progress and adherence to deadlines.
  • Draft, review, and submit legal documents in accordance with court regulations.
  • Conduct initial research and analyze evidence pertinent to cases.
  • Coordinate meetings and depositions; prepare clients for court appearances.
  • Compile trial materials and provide assistance during court proceedings.
  • Administrative Duties: Oversee case calendars, manage correspondence, and update case statuses.
  • File documents with the court and keep track of case dockets.
  • Uphold confidentiality and comply with legal standards and protocols.
  • Assist with general office operations to ensure the efficient functioning of the legal practice.
  • Manage attorneys' schedules and monitor critical deadlines.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, ShareFile, Excel, and Netdocs preferred.
  • Capable of organizing and maintaining both digital and physical case files.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and organizational abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and case management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, especially in litigation, is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with litigation processes, legal terminology, and case management systems.

Educational Background:

  • An associate degree or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Environment:

  • Full-Time/Regular position.
  • Hybrid work model with one day of remote work option.
  • Standard business hours, with the possibility of extended hours during peak litigation phases.

Compensation:

  • Salary range of $75,000 to $95,000, depending on experience.

Benefits:

  • Eligible for a discretionary bonus at year-end.
