As a Senior Mechanical Project Manager with a focus on HVAC and Plumbing, your role will involve leading projects specifically related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing systems. Here's how your expertise in these areas will shape your responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership in HVAC and Plumbing: Oversee the design, implementation, and management of HVAC and plumbing projects, ensuring they meet all technical and regulatory requirements. Your experience will be crucial in guiding these projects from conception through to completion.
  • System Design Oversight: Collaborate with design teams to ensure HVAC and plumbing systems are optimized for efficiency, sustainability, and client needs. This includes reviewing and approving system designs, equipment selections, and layout plans.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of HVAC and plumbing engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. Your expertise will be instrumental in mentoring team members and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop accurate budgets for HVAC and plumbing systems, carefully managing resources to keep projects within financial limits while ensuring top-notch quality.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Create detailed project schedules, coordinating the installation of HVAC and plumbing systems with other construction activities to avoid conflicts and delays.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and tests on HVAC and plumbing installations to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications. Address any issues promptly to maintain high standards.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients on HVAC and plumbing matters, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns. Your ability to explain technical details in a clear and concise manner will be key.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks specific to HVAC and plumbing projects, such as system malfunctions or compliance issues, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Sustainability and Efficiency Focus: Advocate for and implement energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC and plumbing solutions, helping clients meet environmental goals and reduce operational costs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Requires 8-10+ years of experience specifically in HVAC and plumbing, with a solid track record of managing related projects.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with specialized coursework or certification in HVAC and plumbing systems, is often preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, including design, installation, maintenance, and compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously, particularly those involving complex mechanical systems.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to clients, team members, and stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and resolving issues related to HVAC and plumbing systems.
