Role Description

The Director of Business Development is a full-time hybrid role located in Cambridge, MA, with flexibility for remote work. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for US BD team build up and day-to-day tasks such as developing and executing strategies for new business development, lead generation, contract negotiation, and account management. The Director of Business Development will work closely with cross-functional teams to create and implement business plans that drive growth and profitability. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a proven track record in sales and business development for the pharmaceutical/biotech/CRO/CDMO industry, with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical engineering, Bioengineering, Material science or a related STEM field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in sales and business development roles with demonstrated success in generating new business opportunities, ideally within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Experience in contract research organizations (CROs), contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs), or related industries within the mRNA or GCT field preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • A strong business acumen and ability to identify and evaluate market trends, as well as understand customer needs and requirements
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
