THE ROLE

The Operations Manager is a full-time, remote position that plays an integral role in the success of one of the agency’s largest clients. In this role, you will work closely with the Operations Director, Project Director, and Project Teams to plan and execute site designs, develop logistics plans, and forecast budgets for a variety of fan and hospitality experiences. You will work directly with the Operations Director to provide best in class support to our clients. You will need to develop and maintain relationships across the spectrum of the industry, from on-the-ground vendors to high-level executives. Independent work, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and excellent communication skills will be paramount to success in this position.


THE WORK YOU WILL DO

  • Works with the Operations Director, Project Director, and Project Managers in supporting the overall execution of a given project, including tenting, staging, lighting, power, signage, waste management, etc.
  • Utilize best-in-class production resources to push boundaries and deliver exceptional work with a cost-effective approach.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including managing agendas, notes, booking travel, and relevant research.
  • Establish, manage, and clearly communicate timelines, project deliverables, and resource needs related to production.
  • Assist with planning and driving workflows across multiple internal teams to ensure asset deadlines are met.
  • Innovative in researching and selecting the best vendors based on the project scope and services needed. Always looking to create world-class environments for fans to ensure we surpass our clients’ needs.
  • Work with Operations Director and Project Director to negotiate and reconcile vendor invoices with a holistic oversight of the project budget.
  • Allocating appropriate resources to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Providing advanced communication and status updates to Operations Director and Project Director
  • Conducting post-event reviews, working with the Operations Director and Project Director to identify successes and key learnings for improvement.
  • Obtaining necessary permits and interfaces with regulatory and authoritative municipalities.
  • Working in conjunction with the Creative Team to develop the plans for materials, dimensions, functions, and overall design.
  • Works with the Operations Director and Project Director in maintaining and tracking ETZEL-owned assets that are warehoused.
  • Required travel approximately 20% of the time.

 

THINGS ABOUT YOU

  • 3-5+ years of relevant event operations and production experience.
  • You are passionate about the sports and entertainment industry and building a consumer journey that highlights brand initiatives.
  • You have experiential production, operations management, and event production experience.
  • You value building and maintaining positive and respectful working relationships – both internal and external – including with clients, vendors, suppliers, and volunteers.
  • You are a strategic thinker and leader - innately curious, thoughtfully aware, and eager to learn.
  • You have exceptional attention to detail, preparation, and quality.
  • You are solution-oriented - skilled at anticipating challenges and developing multiple solutions.

  • You have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • You understand how to take client deliverables into ideation and actualize into the overall budget.
  • You excel in negotiating and coming up with creative solutions with vendors and partners on behalf of ETZEL and our clients.
  • You are well-versed in current office software and a quick learner with mastering new tools that support your role. (Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Project Management tools, and Vectorworks)
