Our client, Suave, is a leading personal care brand that sells products across hair care, body care, and anti-perspirant/ deodorant. The brand is currently sold across the mass, value, food, drug, and ecommerce channels and has its most significant presence in the mass channel at Walmart. Suave is the #1 hair care brand in the United States by volume and sells at an opening price point stressing great product quality at an attractive price.

The brand was founded 75+ years ago and was recently acquired from Unilever by private equity firm Yellow Wood Partners, establishing it as a standalone company.


Position Description:

The Manufacturing Service Agreement (MSA) Exit Contract Project Manager role will play a pivotal role in the planning, executing, and management of this transformational project for Suave Brands Company. The individual will be responsible for an assigned co-manufacturing partner(s) and ensure that the assigned project is completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting quality standards. The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication, organizational skills, and a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.


Primary Responsibilities:

• Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.

• Hold meetings (daily, weekly, biweekly, as appropriate) with teams to track progress of project.

• Maintain project trackers and issue meeting notes.

• Drive cross-functional collaboration. Partner with Marketing, Operations, and R&D teams to ensure MSA exit achieves all project objectives. This role serves as the “glue” for the project team.

• Be the owner of the timeline and escalate roadblocks to management in timely fashion so as not to delay projects.

• Hold cross-functional team members accountable for their deliverables to the timeline.

• Facilitate conversations with vendors to ensure timely execution.

• Assess project risks and develop and deploy mitigation plans.

• Facilitate conversations with vendors to ensure timely execution.

• Continually evaluate supply chain constraints, and propose alternative solutions, where necessary.

• Lead any other workstreams required to ensure a smooth manufacturing transition with no disruption to service level, and in compliance with our contractual manufacturing services agreement.


Primary Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Operations, etc.).

• Proven experience as a Project Manager, with a minimum of 3 years managing projects in a fast-paced consumer goods, personal care, beauty, or manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools. PMP certification is a plus.

• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills. Highly collaborative.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in project management software (such as Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. The ability to “bring it all together.”

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• The ability to zoom in and zoom out. You are equally able to micro-manage the details as you are to see the big picture and how your work fits into the overall strategy.
