Summary/Purpose of the Position:

Hisco, a division of TestEquity, is seeking an On-site Integrated Supply Specialist for chemical vendor managed inventory (VMI). Responsibilities will include overseeing and managing the inventory of chemicals at a client’s site, maintaining accurate records of stock levels, collaborating with the local site Floor Manager’s, local Procurement, EH&S and vendors to ensure timely replenishment and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The technician may also be responsible for troubleshooting issues, participating in Tier II meetings, participating in Kaizen events and responsible for direct communication of issues that may arise.

*Location: Cedar Rapids, IA - Interested candidates should live in or around the Cedar Rapids, IA area

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the inventory of chemicals at a client’s site.
  • Ensuring agreed upon inventory levels are being maintained
  • Conduct cycle counts of inventory, troubleshoot discrepancies and perform inventory adjustments.
  • Scanning of stocking locations to generate replenishment orders.
  • Manage storage requirements, disposition of expired/expiring/scrap materials and cleanliness of each stocking location.
  • Work with Buyers to manage an acceptable level of turns per item.
  • Coordinate the stocking of items within cabinets upon material delivery.
  • Identify process improvement and cost reduction opportunities and raise any issues of concern to the client and on-site lead and/or Program Manager.
  • Communicate with client and internal resources on identified issues and required adjustments to ordering controls to adjust to clients needs and minimize risk associated with overstock, shelf-life expiration, slow moving or stock outs.
  • Accuracy in order pulling, shipping, receiving and inspection of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
  • Proper storage of materials.
  • Assist with ongoing audits and compliance of EH&S requirements and adjustments to program.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Comply with all company and client EH&S requirements for the facility including proper usage of PPE and equipment.
  • Must maintain valid certificate of completion for forklift operations, if applicable.
  • Must maintain valid certificate of completion for DOT / HazMat 49 CRF 172.704 (Hazardous Material Transportation) and IATA, if applicable
  • Must follow all federal and state compliance requirements in shipping and receiving products
  • Assist with quality assurance.
  • Direct communication with AE and Sales Rep. for expediting product, issues that may arise
  • After hours support and weekends as required

Performance Standards

  • Maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Timely restocking of chemicals.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of chemicals.
  • Adhering to safety protocols.
  • Effectively communicating with clients and internal team members.
  • Promptly addressing any issues or concerns that arise during inventory management process.
  • Adherence to the statement of work agreed upon (SOW)
  • KPI metrics


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in chemical management or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a chemical or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to chemical handling.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
