Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the overall purchasing strategy in alignment with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to anticipate changes and adapt procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize purchasing processes to achieve financial targets and improve overall profitability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as sales, operations, and finance to ensure alignment between purchasing strategies and business needs.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing purchasing team. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards. Manage risks associated with supply chain disruptions and material shortages.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Drive innovation in procurement practices and processes. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and technological advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within the building material industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of building materials, supplier markets, and industry trends. Familiarity with supply chain management and logistics.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing teams. Ability to inspire and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
