Processing Specialist

The Processing Specialist provides administrative support for program serving homeless or at-risk veterans and their families. Assists with reviewing and submitting purchase orders and processing payments. Works closely with Finance and Program Manager.


Responsibilities:

• Review Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) documentation for completeness and accuracy

• Compile and submit TFA purchase order requests in Microix software in a timely manner

• Track hotel stays for homeless clients when no shelter is available, submit purchase orders and renew reservations.

• Reviews Emergency Housing Assistance submissions for completeness and accuracy and submits purchase order requests through Microix.

• Ensure TFA payments are accurately entered in Service Point.

• Serve as liaison between UWCA Finance/Accounts Payable and Priority Veteran program staff

• Other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience in financial administration, payment processing, or clerical work

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong computer skills: experience with MS Suite required

• Good communication skills and ability to problem-solve collaboratively

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently to process a large volume of time-sensitive payments

• Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record, drug screen, and TB test


Nice to Have Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, finance, business management, or related field preferred

• Knowledge of Citrix and/or other financial management systems a plus
