Position: Technical Network Specialist

Location: Plano, TX – Hybrid


Key Activities

  • Manage Datacentre Exit / New builds.
  • Manage new circuits builds and hardware installation in the network.
  • Handle the stakeholders to dispose the hardware and inventory for DC Exit.
  • Arrange access to stakeholders for site visit and device an action plan for delivery of Datacentre Exit / New builds.
  • Coordinate Project delivery with stakeholders, customers and vendors and ensure end to end delivery within agreed timelines.
  • Order the services and cross connects with vendors and carriers for new Installs / Upgrades / Decoms.
  • Proficient in establishing Layer 1 physical connection and setting parameter and protocols for Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices.
  • Support service migration activities and act as a SPOC to LOB’s / customer’s; representing deliverables from vendors / carriers.
  • Design, Deployment, and modification of WAN circuits [eg; MPLS, BGP, VRF, VOIP, Wireless, POTS, Switched Ethernet (EPL, EVPL, EP-LAN, EVP-LAN), EoSDH, VLANs, E1/T1 Lines, SD WAN].
  • Expert in provisioning of services like VRF, L2/L3 VPNs, IPsec, LLF, VPN, Intelligent WAN, SD WAN, VOIP, 4G, SWE, VLANs, EoSDH, leased lines, cross connects, dedicate private lines.
  • Good experience / knowledge of routing protocols like EIGRP/OSPF/BGP/IS-IS/MPLS/MP-BGP/L2-L3VPN.
  • Provide Network Design Engineering services in support of a global customers network.
  • Experienced in preparing specifications to define and illustrate network designs and configurations.
  • Design network solution architecture and implementation documentation (customer and operational).
  • Perform design integration for complex, cross-functional systems and lead technical design reviews of various infrastructure projects.
  • Function as a high-level technical resource and think out of box to resolving complex scenarios.
  • Define and follow standards and best practices for network design, testing, and implementation methodology.
  • Provide design, implementation and consultation service for technological solution, provisioning, network equipment and infrastructure.
  • Develop network designs and cost models for customer specific opportunities and present to product and contract management teams.
  • Review the network design and bill of material with project manager and peer network engineers.
  • Coordinate schedules, tasks, resources, and manage dependencies for design projects.
  • Design WAN infrastructure & Remote Connectivity to sites for customer.
  • Support in documenting process and procedures for future reference and trainings.
  • Training the peers on end-to-end network designs and operating procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and execute evening & weekend changes, as agreed within team.


Responsibilities

  • Complete end-to-end design and implementation of telecom connectivity solutions globally.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call Tier-4 Support and bring new initiative as a part of continual improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders / LOBs to thoroughly understand their network connectivity and bandwidth requirements.
  • Capture project requirements (technical specifications, service type, delivery timelines, budget, approvals etc) and document scope of work.
  • Based on the requirements, issue RFP to carriers for connectivity proposals or engage carrier for Upgrade / Decom requests.
  • Review carrier technical and commercial offerings and select the best suitable bid for new installs.
  • Develop solution that meets customer standards for diversity, resiliency and performance.
  • Highlight SPOF issues, risks, challenges to relevant stakeholders on time.
  • Document design and justification, recommendations and cost models.
  • Present telecom design solutions to Product Owners and seek approval.
  • Issue PO to selected carrier and track and manage progress to meet milestones.
  • Handle changes (BOW) as per customer standards and within delivery scope.
  • Arrange necessary site visits, approvals, authorizations and access to engineers on site for carrying physical work.
  • Coordinate and support in out-of-hours for test and turn up / Hardware removals / site surveys.
  • Review the test results and validate if the outputs meet the customer expectations.
  • Overall end-to-end responsibility for delivery and support arrangement.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular updates to customer and stakeholders.
  • Regularly meet with carriers to track progress and attain FOC.
  • Handle delivery pressure from customer and project managers.
  • Manage carriers / partners to deliver the necessary capacity on-time and on-budget.
  • Document circuit design, risk waivers and circuit inventory.
  • Ensure smooth handover from provisioning to operations.
  • Comply with audits, organizational regulations and regulatory requirements.

  • Juniper Network Certified Enterprise Routing and Switching Expert (desired)
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure (desired)
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Service Provider (desired)
