Green Tech District Sales Manager

This is a remote position but candidate must live in the greater Houston, TX market

SALES COMPONENT:

PURPOSE: This position generates sales revenue for SiteOne Green Tech; the candidate will need to have a “hunter” personality to maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities and a consultative, solutions oriented sales approach.

  • Generate sales and specifications of the Site One Green Tech product portfolio to exceed annual sales goals
  • Sell company products and services in the assigned territory to landscape architects, irrigation consultants, agencies, contractors, property managers and end-users
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers
  • Provide initial start-up assistance and organize product training for new and existing customer base
  • Maintain a pipeline sales portfolio of projects and customer profiles

SERVICE COMPONENT:

PURPOSE: This position provides field service, training and technical support of SiteOne Green Tech solutions sold by the Company, including, but not limited to, central irrigation control systems, prefabricated pump stations, satellite/controller assemblies, solar power systems, rain water harvesting systems, fertilizer injection and filtration systems.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Professionally represent SiteOne Green Tech and its products to end users
  • Diagnose, repair, and certify technical landscape irrigation products sold by the Company
  • Perform pump station troubleshooting and repairs
  • Troubleshoot two-wire and conventionally wired irrigation systems
  • Perform radio and cellular site surveys to ensure proper communication for new installations
  • Provide product training to end-users
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings
  • Schedule and execute weekly territory plan
  • Provide quotes to customers for requested repairs
  • Complete documentation and send invoices for customer service and repair jobs upon completion using the SiteOne POS system
  • Participate in product demonstration with sales personnel


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Computer Skills - Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and ability to learn proprietary company software
  • Knowledge of specification sales management
  • Strong knowledge of technical irrigation and landscape products
  • Must have a positive and winning attitude
  • Possess high mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with wire tracing
  • Knowledge of irrigation hydraulic principles
  • Irrigation and pump electrical troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of pump station hydraulic and electrical components
  • Knowledge of central control irrigation systems – Including but not limited to Toro/Rain Master, HydroPoint/WeatherTrak/Baseline, Rain Bird and Hunter
  • Must have a positive attitude and good communication skils
  • Strong desire to learn new products/techniques
  • Must have clean DMV record
  • Spanish Speaking is a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four-year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires four plus years outside sales and specification experience in the landscape / irrigation industry
  • Experience in landscape architecture
  • Must possess demonstrated sales and marketing skills and knowledge of relevant technologies (i.e. Global Positioning Systems, guidance sensors, remote sensing, irrigation, and other automation forms)
  • Knowledge of computerized central irrigation control systems and prefabricated pump stations
  • Possess knowledge of landscape / irrigation products and practices and be able to understand and perform calculations from landscape / irrigation designs
  • Self-starter with proficiency in MS Office and excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Texas Licensed Irrigator
  • Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) or Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) through the Irrigation Association
  • Experience conducting field troubleshooting, repairs and/or installation of commercial/municipal irrigation control equipment
