ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Manage and oversee engineering documentation processes.
  • Serve as the operations subject matter expert for product design related activity (drawing, blueprint updates, bill of materials, tolerancing, drawing standards, templates, etc.).
  • Own the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for all released products to ensure alignment, information dissemination, approvals, implementation, and sustained improvement.
  • Review active product and component drawings and assess opportunities for standardization, improvement, and optimization.
  • Support cross functional teams in resolving part or product quality/manufacturing issues through engineered solutions.
  • Translate production improvement user needs into clear, concise, design requirements and design concepts for existing and new product engineering.
  • Complete change tracking, deviation assessment, and tracking/maintaining all documentation (drawings, procedures, change logs, product improvements, etc.).
  • Provide technical and manufacturing support to ensure new and existing products are optimally designed for quality, reliability, manufacturing, and cost.
  • Review, recommend, and implement updates to current product designs based on manufacturing, supplier, or customers’ needs.
  • Lead root cause investigations for the resolution of product quality problems and implement corrective plans to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Support and contribute to the manufacturing engineering component of continuous improvement activities (RIE – Rapid Improvement Events, JDI – Just Do It Events), including identification of operations and cost reduction.
  • Design, implement, and review procedures to include automation techniques, factory layout, and maximizing efficiency on production lines.
  • Identify new technologies to enhance both quality and safety.


LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working within a LEAN Manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in leading and implementing manufacturing guidance for new product launch
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, ERP Systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical skill set with the ability to track, record, and maintain documentation (ECN’s, RIE’s, JDI’s, Parts Book, Product Routing, Bills of Material, Material Management, etc.).
  • Previous experience working with prototypes, performing evaluations, and running tests on devices and systems.
  • Strong technical writing skill set for design inputs/outputs, qualifications, and regulatory requirements.
