The company is highly innovative in harnessing energy from biomass and converting it into superior performance aviation fuel and carbon-negative biopolymers for various commercial products.


About the Role:

The Chemical Engineering Technician is responsible for handling flammable liquids/materials and air/water-sensitive materials. The technician must be adaptable to changing environments and working conditions, and capable of troubleshooting process and mechanical issues.


Responsibilities:

  • Experience with flammable solvents, preferably in large quantities:
  • Working at the kilo scale
  • Will work at the ton scale
  • Understanding of the liter scale (important for academic and research contexts)
  • Understanding pressure and flammable gases, particularly working with hydrogen at 700-800 psi
  • Handling pressure reactors with attention to temperature and heat


Qualifications:

Education: BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Other: Must be capable of handling flammable liquids/materials and air/water-sensitive materials

Additional Requirements: Must be ITAR Compliant


Preferred Skills:

Instrumentation: Experience with GC, GC/MS, high-pressure reactors, distillation, and Schlenk line

Industry Experience: Prior experience within the oil and refinery sector


PPE Required:

FIT Test: Yes, will be provided

Respirator: Yes, will be provided

Steel Shoes: Yes, will be provided

Flame Retardant Jumpsuits: Yes, will be provided

Goggles/Face Shield: Yes, will be provided
