What you will do:
This position is responsible for optimization of the production process with a focus on instrumentation and control systems for enhanced work processes, energy reduction efforts, increased throughput, and improved product quality. This includes assisting maintenance and production with troubleshooting issues and failures in the operating areas. The EIC Engineer may be tasked with developing and commissioning small capital projects in their assigned areas along with assisting Project Engineering on electrical and instrumentation design for larger capital projects, and will also have oversight of the site-wide electrical/power system along with other members of the team. TheEIC Engineeris responsible for all hazard reviews, electrical and instrumentation technical documentation, SIL compliance, PMs, and electrical classification compliance. It is the responsibility of each employee to know, understand, and diligently practice our EH&S and Security policies and practices.
- Execute and Manage Electrical Capital Projects - Capital projects implemented safely, as scheduled, and within budget, yielding anticipated improvement and estimated return (payback). This includes the development of detailed electrical scopes, electrical estimation, DCS software estimation, and routing BARs.; 15%.
- Operate as a site-wide electrical/power expert. This includes providing electrical troubleshooting, electrical/power advice, and design reviews of the electrical/power system.; 5%.
- Represent the Electrical Technical Expert for the site. - Maintain the plant's technical documentation and serve as the technical expert for the production facility. (P&IDs, loop sheets, interlocks, etc.); 20%
- Maintain Data Collection of all process data for both Powders and Dispersions plants.; 5%.
- Initiate Continuous Improvement Initiatives - Recommend and support efforts that increase plant operability and throughput, product quality, and electrical/instrumentation reliability.; 10%.
- Participate in commissioning and startup activities for projects. Lead and participate in safety, design, and hazard reviews for projects. Compose, manage, and close MOCs.; 15%.
- Perform root cause analysis as required. Participate as the backfill for other staff as needed, including other plant engineers; 10%.

What we need from you:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; chemical or electrical engineering is preferred.
- Minimum five years of industrial experience as an electrical or plant engineer.
- Position requires strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as both a team leader and as a team member.
- The ability to maintain productive relationships with superiors and peers alike, and ability to manage competing priorities and tasks effectively.
- In addition to general process engineering knowledge, detailed knowledge of plant operations will facilitate successful recommendation and implementation of projects that meet objectives to improve plant performance in a measurable fashion (throughput, quality, on stream, safety, environmental considerations).
- Knowledge of electrical and basic mechanical concepts, applicable process and personnel safety considerations, and environmental regulations are integral to the position.
- Specific applications used routinely include SAP, PI ProcessBook, Microsoft Office applications, PHA Works, D3 and PCS7 process control software and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of high voltage systems, Arc Flash, and interpretation of loop sheets and electrical blueprints.
- Must be able to design, startup, support and troubleshoot process control systems from a hardware and power standpoint.
