Job Summary:

The Business Development Representative will sell, and guide products needed by existing and potential clients. This position reports to the Chief Sales Officer.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

•None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        •Develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing clients in the technical and scientific wholesale and manufacturing fields.

·        •Identifies and locates new clients through a variety of methods including networking and cold calls.

·        •Extensive travel required (Approx. 75%) with minimal notice. Requires a valid driver's license.

·        •Develops and implements strategies for sales in an assigned region or industry.

·        •Applies knowledge of the field and product features to match products to the needs of clients.

·        •Answers inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large.

·        Conduct market research to identify emerging, trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth.

·        Provides information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients.

·        Negotiates prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements; prepares contracts and submits orders.

·        Collaborates with purchasing departments, managers, and other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly.

·        Periodically prepares and reports results, the status of accounts, and leads to manager.

·        Required to meet sales quotas provided by management.

  • Developing a solid and trusting relationship between major key clients and the company.
  • Resolving key client issues and complaints.
  • Developing a complete understanding of key account needs.
  • Anticipating key account changes and improvements.
  • Managing communications between key clients and internal teams.
  • Managing the account team assigned to each client.
  • Strategic planning to improve client results.
  • Negotiating contracts with the client and establishing a timeline of performance.
  • Establishing and overseeing internal budgets with the company and external budgets with the client.
  • Working with design, sales team, creative, advertising, logistics, managers, marketing, and team members from other departments dedicated to the same client account to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced and all client needs are met.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to maximize profit by up-selling or cross-selling.
  • Planning and presenting reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members and stakeholders, and possible use in future case studies or company training.
  • Meeting all client needs and deliverables according to proposed timelines.
  • Analyzing client data to provide customer relationship management.
  • Expanding relationships and bringing in new clients.

·        Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

•Extensive travel required (Approx. 75%) with minimal notice.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•Excellent sales and negotiation skills.

Proven track record of success in business development and key account management in B2B within the clinical diagnostic industry.

•Thorough understanding of technical or scientific products to be sold.

•Organized with attention to detail.
