As a Process Engineer, you will play an integral role in improving processes that drive operational excellence for the Distribution team, both domestically and globally. In this role, you will review current production schedules and processes to find potential improvements and identify procedures or tools to improve productivity, while enforcing quality control to reduce waste. You will be responsible for documenting and implementing new process strategies, managing process resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing and developing production layouts for the company’s warehouse to increase productivity and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyze current practices to identify areas for continuous improvement. Utilize data to build business cases that support efficient production methods.
- Develop and maintain cost control systems. Propose and implement strategies for ongoing cost reduction across projects.
- Maintain engineered labor standards through time studies and data analysis. Oversee the implementation of changes and support staff training on new practices.
- Employ best practices like root cause analysis to troubleshoot production issues and develop solutions.
- Gain deep understanding of both manual and automated process flows across all DCs. This knowledge allows for effective troubleshooting, communication of issues, and training development.
- Assist with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new DCs and ongoing processes.
- Design and update production layouts using AutoCAD to facilitate high automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or over 8 years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years' experience in a Distribution Center.
- Know how to use WMS preferably Manhattan PKMS.
- Able to travel 25% (Chile, Germany, India), about two weeks every other month.
- Predetermined Motion Time systems (MTM or MOST)
- Some AutoCAD knowledge
