Unifi is looking for a temporary Manager- Accounts Payable to support our Accounts Payable Team for a 9-month project where you will lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of a new Accounts Payable (AP) system. This individual will lead the project from inception to completion, focusing on defining efficient processes and ensuring a seamless transition to a self-sufficient AP department. The role requires strong project management and analytical capabilities, the ability to effectively communicate to both finance team members and external customers, and the ability to perform with accuracy and integrity while working on tight deadlines.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to identify potential AP systems that align with the department's needs and objectives
  • Coordinate cross-departmentally to ensure a smooth integration of the new AP system
  • Review and assess current AP processes to identify areas for improvement and automation
  • Design and implement streamlined AP workflows, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Develop training materials and provide hands-on training to team members on new processes and system functionalities
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented changes, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowering the team to take ownership of their roles and contribute to the department's success
  • Provides overall support to the AP department for the duration of the project
  • Is responsible for overseeing ad-hoc tasks and functions within the department
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of Accounts Payable experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully selecting and implementing AP systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with ERP systems and AP automation tools
  • Certification in Accounts Payable or related field (e.g., APMP, CPP) preferred
