Position Overview:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist/Manager to join the team. The Purchasing Specialist will play a crucial role in managing our procurement process for industrial packaging materials and services. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain management, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain international vendor relationships.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Source, select, and negotiate with vendors for the purchase of packaging materials, including but not limited to corrugated boxes, pallets, stretch films, tapes, and other industrial packaging supplies.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement to meet production and customer demand.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, logistics, and finance teams, to optimize purchasing strategies and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to anticipate potential supply chain disruptions and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within the purchasing function.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and best practices in purchasing and supply chain management.


Qualifications:


  • 3+ years of experience working in the Idustrial Packaging Industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist or in a similar procurement role within the industrial packaging industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective vendor relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Netsuite, Quickbooks and Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision or guidance.
