We are supporting a client seeking a Production Manager in Lincoln, Nebraska. The role supervises a 3-shift, 6-day operation, managing 5 direct reports and 200 personnel. It encompasses ensuring plant safety, delivering quality products, meeting productivity benchmarks, and achieving cost objectives. The position also requires ensuring production timelines are managed proactively and by the company’s established standards and practices.


Principal Duties

  • Formulate and execute strategies to achieve safety, quality, customer delivery, and cost targets.
  • Establish and sustain visual KPI reporting to cultivate high-performance teams.
  • Evaluate staffing needs based on business demands and employee competencies.
  • Advocate for equipment, tooling, and processes that support business objectives.
  • Identify training necessities and organize requisite training programs.
  • Facilitate regular departmental and tier meetings.
  • Report any unsafe equipment and ensure its decommissioning.
  • Maintain exemplary standards of housekeeping.
  • Instruct employees in their tasks and acquaint them with company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop skill enhancement plans for direct reports to encourage career progression and talent development.
  • Plan and schedule production activities and supervise the production process.
  • Effectively manage production lines.
  • Implement and utilize quality systems to ensure product integrity.
  • Ensure accurate costing for responsible work centers and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee production practices and establish schedules as required.
  • Ascertain material and human resources requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with managers to implement the organization’s policies and goals.
  • Liaise with various departments, such as suppliers and managers, to prevent delays.


Qualifications

  • 2 - 7 years of leadership experience depending on degree and capacity of experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Ability to mentor and develop a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with ISO and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma.
  • A decade of experience in production management, scheduling, and assembly processes is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.


Education and Certifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
