Spotlight is in search of a Hardware Engineer for a 6 month contract-to-hire position for our client in San Diego, CA. You will be working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.


Please note, this position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret or Top Secret Clearance and the ability to work On-Site to be considered.


Compensation: In addition to hourly rate + benefits eligibility, Spotlight is offering an accrued bonus* for the initial 6 month contract engagement. Upon conversion to full-time employment, our client is offering a competitive salary, benefits + bonus eligibility.


Role:

In this position, you will be developing hardware in support of products related to spacecraft subsystems. You will be involved in design activities with embedded networking technologies for multiple projects.


Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience with DDR4 and/or DDR5
  • Experience with Signal Intensity Analysis
  • High Speed Digital experience (10g)
  • Demonstrated success in delivering electrical designs.


8+ years’ relevant experience with any of the below listed areas:

  • Knowledge of microprocessor architecture, programmable logic, various memory types, discrete digital logic, etc.
  • Designing, simulating, analyzing and debugging high speed interfaces
  • Work on complex, multi-discipline programs that include mechanical, electrical and firmware
  • High-speed design rules for circuit boards, layout requirements, circuit board stack-up.
  • Create and review specifications, Interface Control Documents, proposals and end user manuals.
  • OrCAD and/or Altium design tool experience.
  • Signal and power integrity simulation and analysis
