Summary/Objective:


The Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the Stinger Product Development team with new product development, and product enhancement of internally engineered products. This position assists with the design and validation of all products. This exciting role helps continuously improve the products through critical product performance feedback.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Involved in the designs of new products and/or processes or makes modifications to existing products and/or processes, having high complexity, maintaining an awareness of product technology requirements.
  • Help with the development and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  • Help create sales and business presentations and demonstrations.
  • Conduct internal training sessions about the consumer benefits of the applicable Stinger brands and products.
  • Have a complete understanding of Stinger’s brands & products.
  • Create product installation and user guides.
  • Assist engineering with product validation/product testing. Including UX/UI development.
  • Support the project team deliverables, meet commitments and deadlines.
  • Understand the competitors and their product(s); how does Stinger’s product have a unique selling proposition.
  • Understand the market trends, consumer trends, and technology trends.


Requirements:


  • This position must be accurate and meticulous regarding product details.
  • Working knowledge of touch-screen radio systems, related interfacing technologies, other automotive peripherals, and automotive audio products
  • Ability to look beyond the standard solutions and help to create a product that is within budget, on time, and in demand.
  • Ability to effectively work with suppliers, and partners within and outside of the US.
  • Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
  • Decision making experience with an appropriate balance between thoughtful research and need for timeliness.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work on a team as a positive contributor.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve Mobile Electronics installations and related items.
  • Must be proficient with internet search engines in order to conduct necessary research.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of the company’s products.
  • Work closely with Engineering to help develop and maintain the product line.
  • Working knowledge of the automotive electronics industry


Require Education and Experience:


  • 3+ years’ product experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Vehicle installation experience required – MECP and/ or ASE Certification is a PLUS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Adobe Creative Suite is a PLUS
  • Requires valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a variety of automobiles
  • Installation experience in the mobile electronics industry
  • Must be proficient using test equipment such as a multimeter, Oscilloscope, and RTA.


Supervisory Responsibility:


No direct supervisor responsibilities.


Environmental/Physical Requirements:


  • May sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, and lifting daily
  • Operating computer, telephone, voicemail and other office equipment regularly
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs on a regular basis


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Hours – Full Time: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (30-minute lunch), Monday – Friday


Position Location: Chino, CA


Travel: No travel requirements
