Position Summary

As a key member of the Development Team, the Donor Engagement Manager oversees mid-level individual and corporate giving, and associated campaigns that inspire new and renewed donor support, annually. This front-line fundraising position manages a donor-portfolio (individual and corporate) and works closely with the Senior Philanthropy Officer and Marketing & Communications Team on various fundraising campaigns, communications, moves management strategies, and events aimed at bolstering support for Habitat’s mission.


Position Responsibilities

Drive growth of mid-level donor/corporate partner contributions through a range of strategies, ultimately intended to build a strong pipeline for major gift giving/annual corporate partnerships and increase giving by at least 10% year over year.

  1. Execute effective moves management strategies to build and maintain relationships with prospective and current mid-level annual donors and corporate partners (up to $5000 per year) to meet annual revenue goals.
  2. Maintain and manage a portfolio of mid-level annual and monthly donors.
  3. Evaluate the giving potential and steward donors acquired through direct marketing program.
  4. Plan the strategy and implement annual giving campaigns: direct mail, matching gifts, monthly giving, and digital giving.
  5. Develop relationships with business leaders, create funding proposals, and provide timely and accurate reports to corporate funders.
  6. Work with Communications team to create and maintain marketing materials and partnership tools.
  7. Assist in the planning, fundraising, and implementation of special fundraising campaigns, such as Rock the Block, the Construction Training Program, and themed home builds.
  8. Serve as spokesperson for corporate events and other speaking engagements (shared responsibility among Development and leadership team).
  9. Coordinate scheduling and work closely with Volunteer Services staff to schedule corporate build days, ensure corporate partners are informed about volunteer opportunities, and enjoy their volunteer experience.
  10. Promote and serve as point person for cause marketing campaigns conducted by corporate partners/others.
  11. Organize, plan, and attend home dedications and other events, in collaboration with Development and leadership team.
  12. Utilize the Raiser’s Edge CRM to record and track all donor activity and to increase productivity, including training to serve as backup to Development Operations.
  13. Travel frequently within service area to visit current and prospective partners.
  14. Keep current on fundraising research, best practice and giving trends.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in securing gift commitments in the corporate sector and/or sponsorship experience, or other relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the Tristate region’s business community and organizations.
  • Ability to successfully manage both short- and long-term responsibilities of the position, implementation of program goals and objectives, moves management, and administrative support for the program.
  • Highly capable in relationship building and relationship management. Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills in various social and professional settings to ensure positive relationships with colleagues, corporate donors, Habitat homebuyers, and volunteers.
  • Committed to delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional, articulate speaker comfortable with public speaking engagements.
  • Ability to perform as a team player, as well as to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings as required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and internet research. Raiser’s Edge or comparable CRM experience preferred.
