The Operations Lead plays a critical role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. This role requires an experienced pilot with excellent leadership and communications skills to manage and support our team of Dispatchers while ensuring smooth daily execution of all flight operations. 


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily flight operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety protocols.
  • Lead and supervise a team of Dispatchers, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations 
  • Coordinate flight schedules, aircraft availability, and instructor assignments to optimize operational efficiency
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues and emergencies, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Collaborate with the Chief Flight Instructor and the Director of Maintenance to ensure cohesive and efficient operation.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, implementing improvements as necessary
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistent and high-quality operations
  • Conduct initial and recurrent training sessions for Dispatchers and other operational staff
  • Foster a positive and professional working environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Must be an experienced pilot with at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate OR a non-pilot has demonstrated management experience at a FBO or another flight school. 
  • Desirable – Candidates are eligible for increased pay if they hold a CFI certificate
  • Highly Desirable – Candidates are eligible for increased pay if they meet the requirements for a Part 141 Assistant Chief according to FAR 141.36 for any of the Private, Instrument, and Commercial courses.
  • Proven leadership experience in aviation operations, preferably within a flight school or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and lead a team
  • Experience using flight scheduling software.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by operational needs.
