Pharmacy Director
Full Time/Exempt

Uphams Corner Health Center is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Director to oversee our dynamic pharmacy team. At Uphams, we foster a family-like environment where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and dedication to providing exceptional health services are paramount.

Uphams Corner Health Center delivers comprehensive, affordable primary and elder care to the community, including a wide range of services such as family medicine, women's health, behavioral health, nutrition, urgent care, and more, all tailored to the diverse needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure the success of pharmacy programs and align with organizational goals.
  • Design and implement effective systems to enhance pharmacy productivity.
  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and accreditation standards.
  • Conduct annual reviews and updates of pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare the annual budget and submit requests for capital expenditures.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations and medication ordering processes.
  • Ensure that medication profiles are accurately maintained by pharmacy staff.
  • Supervise the preparation of medications in compliance with established policies and regulations.
  • Provide accurate drug information and education to staff and patients.
  • Maintain documentation required by regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure pharmacy equipment is up-to-date and accessible online resources are available.
  • Lead the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
  • Utilize pharmacy management systems for inventory, billing, and reporting.
  • Oversee the credentialing and training of pharmacy personnel in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Ensure security measures are in place for pharmacy access.
  • Ensure prescriptions are dispensed appropriately for legitimate medical use.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Active MA Pharmacist License required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution required.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in retail or outpatient pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a management role.
  • Preferred knowledge of 340B programs.
  • Bilingual skills are highly desirable.
Independent Action:
  • Develop short-term departmental plans and objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Recruit, train, and develop pharmacy staff.
Access Level to PHI: Level 4 [Authorized to access full health information for patient care purposes.]
