What this role is all about:
We are looking for a Production Planner in La Crosse, WI.
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating the flow of work, information, and materials for all aspects of production.
- Monday through Friday (Hybrid)
To be considered, you will need to:
- Develop master production schedule for assigned production line(s), establishing sequence and lead-time for each operation.
- Schedule production orders in a way that optimizes efficiency in the plant with respect to ship dates, capacity, allergens and raw material availability.
- Monitor production orders and work to eliminate delays by expediting material shipments or revising the production schedule.
- Analyze orders and capacity data to determine if there needs to be modifications made to the production lines (i.e. start running on a shift they previously were not, take down a line for a shift, etc.); Communicate the changes to the Production department.
- Utilize raw ingredient specifications to ensure finished product will meet final specifications.
- Prepare blend sheets for production, and effectively communicate order requirements to the production and quality assurance teams.
- Utilize customer forecasts and historical data to determine safety stock levels.
- Develop forecasts for Select Custom Solutions branded products and balance production output with actual sales to ensure customer fill rates are being achieved while minimizing inventory impact.
- Coordinate raw material approval and warehouse transfers to ensure that product is available and ready to be used in the plant.
- Manage inventories to prevent and reduce excess and inactive products. This includes working with quality, R&D and sales to ensure re-work product gets used where possible to mitigate impact to EBITDA.
- Responsible for communicating changes to the production schedule with the appropriate departments within the company.
- Create and maintain bills of materials, production orders, and item codes.
- Gather, consolidate and compute costs associated with production runs.
- Evaluate raw material costs when preparing blend formulations to ensure finished product will meet target margin requirements.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations Management or related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Experience Required:
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a planning, inventory, and/or production environment required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a planning, inventory, and/or production environment is preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems preferred.
