Job Description:

This role is responsible for developing and executing the company's Business Intelligence (BI) strategy, overseeing the design and implementation of BI and integrated business solutions, and leading a team of analytics and development professionals. The position requires a deep understanding of BI and Development technologies, as well as the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with decision-makers to ensure data gathering and analysis align with the organization’s business strategy.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the overall BI and Development strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the BI and Development team, fostering a culture of innovation, process excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor BI and Development professionals to build and maintain a high-performance team. Set performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and provide feedback for ongoing development.
  • Collaborate with executives, department heads, and other stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into BI and Development solutions that drive informed decision-making.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the evolution of the BI and Development infrastructure, tools, and technologies, staying abreast of industry trends and recommending updates as necessary.
  • Lead the design and development of dashboards, reports, data visualizations, integrations, and automation initiatives.
  • Drive the adoption of self-service analytics tools and advance the organization’s use of automation.
  • Coordinate and manage the work of project teams within an Agile framework, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Resolve outstanding BI and Development issues, reporting on progress regularly and ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Create innovative dashboards, reports, and metrics that are visually appealing and easily interpreted by customers, management, and operational personnel, aiding in demonstrating and improving the value of services.
  • Conduct ongoing data mining and analysis to ensure existing BI artifacts provide value, including root cause variance analysis and continuous enhancement of BI artifacts and related drill-down capabilities.
  • Analyze system processes through the interpretation of stored procedures, OLAP, and OLTP data to ensure quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the Data Warehouse initiative by defining enhancement requirements and requesting new dimensional and fact tables to support the BI process.
  • Assist end users with BI tools, including ad-hoc development and code review to ensure accuracy and purpose alignment.
  • Perform self-review and quality assurance on the work of team members to maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency across the department.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of BI toolsets to ensure the delivery of optimal solutions.
  • Optimize BI reports to maximize performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft BI stack, including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS or equivalent tools.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and developing SQL relational tables, OLAP cubes, and data marts.
  • Practical experience with data visualization tools; MS Power BI preferred.
  • Experience with data ingestion from various sources (e.g., API - SOAP, OAuth, JSON, MSSQL, CSV/TXT, Sheets, Excel).
  • Proven ability in managing and optimizing database and data warehouse systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conceptualizing and designing new reports.
  • Strong track record of executing complex data extraction and analytical projects.
  • Exceptional ability to recognize and define problems, understand business and system processes, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate ideas and analysis results to both business and technical staff, including the ability to document and convey complex ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Strong ability to formulate and communicate questions to gather necessary information for problem resolution.
  • Proven capability in conceptualizing and solving business problems through data analysis.
  • Experience working with data warehouse systems.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
