Role and Responsibilities:


As an Estimator – Heavy Civil, Roads & Bridges, reporting to the VP of Estimating, you will have the exciting opportunity to:


  • Calculate a wide array of statistical data, including quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per person-hour, and equipment costs.


  • Dive into historical data, such as purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports, to compile summary reports that set the foundation for future estimates.


  • Contribute to the creation of project update and bid package estimate documents.


  • Keep organized files of working documents to support estimating figures.


  • Assist in aligning conceptual estimates with actual cost data.


  • Take on additional assignments as directed by your supervisor.


Key Skills and Abilities:


A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred, along with 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, engineering, or a similar field.


Essential qualifications include:


  • Expertise in construction materials and familiarity with material designations (e.g., W section and HP section).


  • Comprehensive understanding of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.


  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the ability to excel in a team environment.


  • Proficiency in calculating mathematical extensions and interpreting engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.


  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Excel.


  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.


  • A demonstrated track record of dependability, diligence, and thoroughness.


  • A proactive, solution-oriented problem solver.
