Our client is a well-established general contractor known for its expertise in heavy/highway, civil, and industrial construction sectors. Reporting Structure
This role will report directly to the Vice President of Estimating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed calculations including quantity take-offs, material costs, labor expenses, and equipment pricing.
  • Investigate historical data to inform estimating practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of project updates and bid documentation.
  • Maintain organized files for all working documents.
  • Track and compare conceptual estimates against actual costs.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience is preferred, ideally with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials and the ability to identify material classifications (e.g., W section and HP section).
  • Essential understanding of estimating methodologies, cost management, and material pricing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations and capable of interpreting engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and MS Excel is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A consistent, reliable, and thorough work ethic is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to devise effective solutions.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to submit their applications.
