Job Title: Facilities Operations Planner and Scheduler

Job Type: Contract

Location: Meriden, CT (On-site)

Est. Start Date: September 2024

Length: 12-Months

Hours: 8-hour shift, 7am-4:30PM

Pay rate: $31-$34/hr, DOE


Responsibilities:

  • Review work order requirements with Process Engineering, Facilities Operations and Production Supervisors to determine appropriate timing, ensure availability of people and equipment, and get preliminary approval of scheduling considerations.
  • Develop daily, weekly, monthly maintenance work schedule based on materials availability, priority of request(s), production considerations, and craftsperson time availability
  • Continuously communicate with the Facilities Operations Inventory Specialist to ensure all parts are available or ordered for the scheduled work orders
  • Enter, plan, up-date and close shop work orders in SAMS or SAP for accurate accounting and record keeping.
  • Complete forms and reports relating to planning, scheduling and completion of work orders to provide appropriate information for Facilities Operations and Production personnel
  • Work with Reliability Engineer to review actual versus planned work order reports to ensure effectiveness of planning and scheduling process, and to identify problem areas if any in completing work as planned
  • Perform other assignments as directed by supervision and leadership


Requirements:

  • High School or Trade School Diploma
  • Planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Possess a high regard and understanding of Safety practices.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from production, maintenance, suppliers and engineering
  • Strong organization and time management skills, accompanied by excellent communication skills
  • Escort contractors as needed
  • Possess good computer skills, including MS Office, CMMS, SAP or other planning software
  • Display and execute a positive, can-do attitude
  • Demonstrated willingness to work overtime


Nice to have:

  • Professional certifications, military background or college degree
  • Facilities planning/scheduling experience
  • Knowledge and experience in machining and materials characterization
  • Experience in a manufacturing plant environment
