Position Overview:
The Commercial Construction Project Manager will oversee and manage ground-up construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of commercial construction processes, exceptional leadership skills, and a track record of successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with a keen ability to coordinate various stakeholders and ensure that projects are completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Lead and manage commercial construction projects from ground-up, including pre-construction planning, design coordination, and site management.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial control.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, change orders, and other project-related financial documents.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks to keep the project within budget.
Scheduling and Coordination:
- Create and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and final delivery.
- Schedule and coordinate daily activities, subcontractor work, and material deliveries.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust timelines as necessary to accommodate changes.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure all construction activities adhere to quality standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues or deviations from the plan.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports for project progress and compliance.
Team Leadership and Communication:
- Lead and motivate project teams, including internal staff and external subcontractors.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between all project stakeholders.
- Address and resolve conflicts or issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and providing regular updates on project status.
- Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 5-10 years) as a Construction Project Manager with a focus on ground-up commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects with budgets and timelines.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and construction management tools.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar is preferred.
