Position Overview:

The Commercial Construction Project Manager will oversee and manage ground-up construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of commercial construction processes, exceptional leadership skills, and a track record of successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with a keen ability to coordinate various stakeholders and ensure that projects are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Lead and manage commercial construction projects from ground-up, including pre-construction planning, design coordination, and site management.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial control.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices, change orders, and other project-related financial documents.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks to keep the project within budget.

Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Create and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and final delivery.
  • Schedule and coordinate daily activities, subcontractor work, and material deliveries.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust timelines as necessary to accommodate changes.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure all construction activities adhere to quality standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues or deviations from the plan.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports for project progress and compliance.

Team Leadership and Communication:

  • Lead and motivate project teams, including internal staff and external subcontractors.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between all project stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve conflicts or issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Client Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and providing regular updates on project status.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 5-10 years) as a Construction Project Manager with a focus on ground-up commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, materials, and methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects with budgets and timelines.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and construction management tools.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar is preferred.
