Summary
The Project Site Safety Representative is responsible for overall administration of the safety guidelines on the project and to grow their own knowledge pertaining to safety and the construction process. They will take an active role in their personal development and seek opportunities to gain experience in the field. This role requires punctuality, attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a team environment.
Qualifications
- OSHA 30-hour certification (within the past 3 years)
- 3 years+ experience as a designated construction safety coordinator/representative.
- Strong knowledge on fall protection, boom lifts, rigging, and cranes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols in a construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor safety efforts of employees, conducting project safety meetings weekly and enforcing safety guidelines.
- Become familiar with safety compliance including enforcement and reporting.
- Coordinate with project supervision so that necessary personal protective equipment and safety materials are available and are utilized correctly.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols and job site-specific requirements. Immediately communicate any safety concerns to the Project Superintendent or Foreman.
- In the event of an injury on-site, report it without delay to the Company Safety Director.
- Proactively identify and assist in mitigating hazards in the workplace.
- Create daily pre task planning and other required safety paperwork.
- Ensure the well-being of fellow employees on-site, promoting a team-centric environment.
- Demonstrate initiative in the tasks performed and seek knowledge and understanding of the scope of work.
