  • The expectation is this individual should be onsite in Morris, IL. With that said, the Manager is open to considering candidates that start as early as 5:00 AM.
  • This position is part-time, 24 hours per week.


Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Hardware Technician to join our team working in a Control Room Simulator environment, which is a full replica of a main functional Control Room at a nuclear station. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the hardware components of the simulator, ensuring its proper functioning to support training and testing activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform wiring of low voltage equipment and switches in the simulator.
  • Replace and rebuild existing switches as needed.
  • Repair and swap PC boards to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Modify panels and create filler plates to accommodate new hardware installations.
  • Replace obsolete annunciator boards with updated components.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
  • Maintain inventory of hardware components and equipment.


Required Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent and hands-on electronic and/or mechanic experience.
  • Experience in hardware maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to quickly learn to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
