We are looking for a dedicated laborer in the plumbing sector who aspires to advance to a plumbing apprentice and eventually achieve licensure as a Journeyperson Plumber. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in both residential and commercial environments. This position offers full-time hours with competitive pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and conduct pressure tests on all piping, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems in accordance with specifications and plumbing regulations.
  • Identify plumbing issues and perform repairs as directed or per work orders.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system components, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and water softeners.
  • Receive and execute work orders.
  • Select materials and hardware while estimating time and costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and labor utilized.
  • Manage inventory of Adams tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Inspect completed jobs to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required.

Additional Expectations:

  • Flexibility to assist in other areas of the Service Department during staff shortages or to support light construction projects.
  • Willingness to perform tasks outside of usual responsibilities to achieve team objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Some experience in plumbing within commercial and/or residential settings.
  • Strong customer service and sales abilities.
  • Knowledge of plumbing repair, maintenance, and installation practices.
  • Post-secondary education from a college, trade school, or military service is preferred.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

  • The capability to read, interpret, and utilize manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to plumbing systems.
  • Technical skills with an understanding of local plumbing codes and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general software navigation.
  • A strong personal commitment to self-improvement.
  • A clean, professional appearance and a strong work ethic.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • The ability and willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift over 70 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
  • Must pass a lift test.
  • Must pass a drug screening.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
