We are in search of a dedicated laborer in the plumbing sector who aspires to become a plumbing apprentice and eventually a licensed Journeyperson Plumber. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in both residential and commercial settings. This is a full-time role offering competitive pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and conduct pressure tests on all pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems in accordance with specifications and plumbing regulations.
  • Identify sources of plumbing issues and perform repairs as indicated or as per work orders.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and water softeners.
  • Receive and complete work orders efficiently.
  • Select materials and hardware while estimating time and costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and labor utilized.
  • Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Inspect completed jobs to ensure cleanliness and quality.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required.
Additional Expectations:
  • Support other areas of the Service Department during staff shortages or to assist with light construction tasks.
  • Exhibit flexibility and a willingness to perform duties outside your usual expertise to achieve the goals of the Adams team.
Qualifications:
  • Some experience in plumbing within commercial and/or residential environments.
  • Strong customer service and sales abilities.
  • Knowledge of plumbing repair, maintenance, and installation methods.
  • Post-secondary education from a college, trade school, or military background is preferred.
Ideal Candidates Will Possess:
  • The ability to read, interpret, and utilize manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to plumbing systems.
  • Technical knowledge of local plumbing codes and the ability to find solutions using available resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general software navigation.
  • A strong personal drive for improvement.
  • A clean, neat, and professional appearance, demonstrating pride in workmanship.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • The ability and willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and lift over 70 pounds periodically throughout the shift.
  • Must pass a lift test.
  • Must pass a drug screening.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
