We are looking for a dedicated laborer in the Plumbing sector who aspires to advance to a plumbing apprentice and eventually become a licensed Journeyperson Plumber. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in both residential and commercial settings. This position offers full-time hours with competitive compensation and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and conduct pressure tests on all pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems in accordance with specifications and plumbing regulations.
  • Identify plumbing issues and perform repairs as indicated or as per work orders.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system components, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and water softeners.
  • Receive and complete work orders efficiently.
  • Select materials and hardware while estimating time and costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and labor utilized.
  • Oversee inventory of Adams tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Inspect completed jobs to ensure cleanliness and quality.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required.
Additional Information:
  • May involve working in various areas of the Service Department to provide assistance during staff shortages or to perform light construction tasks.
  • Flexibility is essential, as all team members may need to take on responsibilities outside their usual roles to achieve the objectives of the Adams team.

Qualifications:
  • Some experience in plumbing within commercial and/or residential environments.
  • Strong customer service and sales abilities.
  • Knowledge of plumbing repair, maintenance, and installation practices.
  • Some post-secondary education from college, trade school, or military service.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:
  • The capability to read, interpret, and utilize manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to plumbing systems.
  • Technical knowledge of local plumbing codes and the ability to find solutions using available resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A strong personal commitment to self-improvement.
  • A clean, neat, and professional appearance, demonstrating pride in workmanship.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • The ability and willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and lift over 70 pounds periodically throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to pass a lift test.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
