Safety Compliance Specialist Summary:


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that all safety protocols are adhered to, and that our work environment remains compliant with both internal and external safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage various safety-related tasks effectively.


Safety Compliance Specialist Responsibilities:


  • Conduct comprehensive Contractor Safety Audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Issue and manage Core Permits, Electrical Authorizations, Hot Work Permits, and other necessary safety documentation.
  • Serve as a Safety Lookout during live electrical panel work to ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Maintain and review inspection records for electrical safety gloves and arc flash suits.
  • Perform regular inspections of critical safety equipment, including eye wash stations, GFCI outlets, shop jacks, and fire extinguishers.
  • Record and update STOP Audits in the company database.
  • Upload CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) hours to the company database.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of Lockout/Tagout Procedures (LOTOPs).
  • Utilize subscription services to ensure compliance with all local safety regulations.
  • Aid in the documentation and management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Communicate with contractors to verify that they possess the correct licensing and qualifications.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of pool vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards.
  • Support the facilitation of FS&RE monthly safety meetings and instructor-led EH&S training sessions for FS&RE personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with EH&S Safety Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on personal safety and industrial hygiene matters to implement Corteva safety standards.


Safety Compliance Specialist Requirements:


  • Proficiency in computer applications and database management.
  • Strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to helping others maintain a safe work environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in a research center or agricultural background is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
