Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Position: QC Laboratory Technician (Shift)

Shift: 12hr rotating


 

Responsibilities:

·      Testing of in-process and final product materials for parameters indicating process performance and overall product quality. 

·      Maintain laboratory stock from inventory (pipets, gloves, vials, etc.). 

·      Maintain laboratory inventory. Request purchases as necessary.

·      Proficiency with all equipment & test methods the laboratory is equipped to run.

·      Perform all analyses in a timely manner.

·      Maintain records of all sample analyses in accordance with laboratory guidelines.

·      Enter all data into laboratory data system in a timely manner.

·      Notify supervisor of off-spec analyses and/or equipment issues in a timely manner.

·       Perform QC checks and calibrations of laboratory equipment.

·      Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as required.

·      Other duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor.

 

Desired Attributes:

·      Possess good planning and organizational skills.

·      Good written and verbal communication skills.

·      Adaptability to changing needs.

·      Prior experience in a manufacturing/production facility.

·      Prior experience in an analytical laboratory.

·      Ability to work a 12 hour rotating shift.

·      Flexibility in scheduling (ability to fill in for sick coworkers, vacations, etc.)

 

Experience and Skills Required:

·      Minimum of an A.S. in Chemistry or two years of related work experience.

·      Laboratory experience including quantitative solution preparation and operation of instrumentation such as GC, ICP, Karl Fischer, etc. 

·      Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.).

·      Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

·      Must possess a method of transportation to/from work.

 

Physical Requirements:

·      Must be able to lift/move up to 35lbs.

·      Must be capable of frequent standing.
