Seeking a Director of Recruiting to plan, develop, and direct the recruitment process. This will be a hands-on senior position and requires an individual who has a solid understanding of hiring and HR compliance within the Federal Government Contracting arena, preferably with a small to mid-sized business. The candidate must have the ability to interact with all levels of managerial staff, understand the current and future workforce needs and determine the strategic direction and objectives of the recruitment department. The director of recruiting evaluates the recruiting function, strategies, and procedures and finds opportunities for improvement. The focus of this position is not benefits nor compensation but hiring, managing the progressive disciplinary procedures, and ensuring federal compliance in policies and practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop and manage a full cycle recruiting process

  • Manage the annual employee performance review process
  • Manage, on a hands-on basis, the employee progressive disciplinary process
  • Improve our recruiting practices
  • Manage one mid-level professional staff and one junior professional/administrative staff
  • Understand that filling positions quickly with high quality candidates is a critical function for the company and drive that process
  • Leverage multiple sourcing strategies and channels including external network, job boards, networking events, and internal referrals to provide high quality candidates for open positions
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and goals
  • Provide insight to hiring managers regarding salary expectations for hiring needs
  • Prepare screening questions for requirements
  • Individually and as a manager, screen resumes, interview qualified candidates, evaluate skill level, reference checks, and make salary recommendations
  • Individually or as a manager, conduct phone and/or preliminary interviews
  • Oversee and/or schedule interviews for hiring managers
  • Develop and maintain strong internal customer and candidate relationships
  • Maintain applicant tracking system with accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates and candidate sourcing
  • Comply with all federal and state laws and company policies regarding recruitment and selection processes, and termination practices
  • Coordinate hiring recommendations between operations and the human resources department
  • Attend weekly meetings designed to update status of open positions
  • Maintain and distribute relevant data regarding all recruiting and other HR activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of oversight of Technical Recruitment at a small to mid-size business
  • BS in Human Resources or related field
  • Direct Technical Recruiting experience
  • Experience in government contracting and government contract recruiting.
  • In depth knowledge of government HR compliance.
  • ATS experience (ISolve preferred)
  • Excellent relationship building and client services focused
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Flexible, versatile, and works well under pressure
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to readily adapt to changing requirements
