The Senior Director of Total Rewards – North America will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and administration of total rewards programs across all aspects of compensation and benefits for our North American employees. This role will play a critical part in developing and executing strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while ensuring alignment with our company's objectives and values.


Making an Impact:

• Total Rewards Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy for North America that supports the organization's goals, culture, and business objectives.

• Compensation Management: Provide strategic direction, planning, and requirements to execute the design, implementation, and administration of competitive and equitable compensation programs, including base pay, short- and long-term incentives, commission and recognition programs.

• Sales Commissions and Incentive Strategy & Design: Lead the design of competitive sales incentive plans that motivate sellers and drive short-term and long-term growth goals. Leverage industry data and insights to ensure incentive/commission compensation is competitive and the expenditure and targets drives the behaviors and results the Company desires.

• Benefits Administration: Lead the evaluation, selection, and management of employee benefit programs (retirement and health & welfare), ensuring offerings remain competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with employee needs and future trends. Manage relationships with external vendors and other relevant stakeholders to optimize program effectiveness and cost efficiency

• Executive Compensation: Partner with senior leadership, corporate compensation, and external consultants to design and administer executive compensation programs that drive performance and support business objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Data Analysis and Insights: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our rewards programs to ensure they are aligned with our business and talent strategies Utilize data analytics and market research to assess the effectiveness of total rewards programs, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations to enhance employee engagement and retention.

• Total Rewards Governance: Provide leadership and oversight of the Governance committees for Total Rewards including the Employee Benefits Committee, Investment Subcommittee, Administrative Subcommittee and the Variable Compensation Committee.

• Partner with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of total rewards expense


Sharing Expertise:

• Performance Enablement: Collaborate with HR and business leaders to align total rewards programs with performance processes, ensuring consistency, fairness, and effectiveness in rewarding high performance.

• Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of total rewards professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the department.

• Communication and Education: Develop and deliver communication and education programs to ensure employees understand the value of their total rewards package and can make informed decisions about their benefits.

• Influencing leaders: Provide strategic partnership to internal business stakeholders and senior leadership to address business needs. Design differentiated benefits offerings for our employees, associates and consultants which establish the organization as a competitive and attractive employer in the marketplace.

• Technical Expertise: prior experience setting compensation and benefits strategy/design, selection and management of plan vendors, managing plan budgets/financials and compliance, creating strong communications plans and enhancing the employee experience


Gaining Exposure:

• Compliance and Risk Management: Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory changes impacting compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and brokers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions that meet the needs of the organization and its employees.

Your Typical Day

Overall, a Senior Director of Total Rewards has a varied and demanding role that requires a combination of strategic planning, data analysis, project management, and interpersonal skills.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in total rewards, compensation, and benefits management (retirement and health & welfare), with at least 7 years in a leadership role.

• In-depth knowledge of compensation and benefits practices, including executive compensation, equity, incentive/commission design, audits and regulatory compliance.

• Experience developing and implementing total rewards strategies that support organizational goals and drive employee engagement and retention.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven recommendations.

• Experience in leading acquisitions and integration with a focus on Total Rewards and retention.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to build and develop high-performing teams and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.


Preferred:

• Master's degree in related field

• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation preferred.

• Experience working in a multinational organization or across multiple jurisdictions is a plus.


This position is based in our Global Headquarters located in downtown Milwaukee. Employees can enjoy an onsite cafeteria, coffee shop and gym along with beautiful views of the Milwaukee river, Deer District, and historic downtown architecture.
