Total Rewards Center Of Excellence (COE) in Johnson Controls is organized through Total Rewards Business Partners, Specialty Areas, and Programs and Process Solutions. The value of our COE lies in company vision and strategy linked to the business, the in-depth expertise, operational excellence, and partnership and consultation with our businesses. We work together to research, design, analyze, operationalize, and communicate Total Rewards programs and solutions that tie to business strategy and support business goals.

What you will do:

  • Manage and execute annual processes globally or regionally through assigned resources

  • Lead/deliver project partnering with Specialty Areas & TRBPs in Total Rewards COE

  • Partner with HR Services & Solutions to ensure understanding and enable application of processes, programs, and policies

  • Identify the most effective way to communicate “the message” and “impact the audience”

  • Continuously monitor the environment opportunities for improvement and measure results

  • Optimize service delivery model through the continuous evaluation of work product

  • Consistently deliver data-driven, high quality and timely results

The Total Rewards Consultant role is expected to work on moderate to complex projects with minimal direct supervision, identify gaps and deficiencies in processes, and recommend adjustments and improvements. The person should have exceptional analytical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail as well as the ability to prioritize their own work to achieve objectives.

How you will do it:

  • Support all operational aspects of the Total Rewards "Center of Excellence" (COE) to implement and drive standard processes and procedures regarding annual Compensation programs.

  • Provides support to Management, HR and Total Rewards Partners on a variety of compensation plans, programs and systems. Supports development of salary administration and compensation related training.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation, administration and security of Total Rewards systems, mailboxes and communication platforms. Make recommendations for improvements and changes. Assist with implementing new approaches as well as changes or modifications.

  • Partner with Finance and HR for administration of Incentive Compensation plans.

  • Conducts analyses for a broad range of ad hoc compensation and benefits projects.

  • Uses various data analytics tools to build dashboards, analytics, and workflows to support compensation activities and annual processes.

  • Participates in market surveys and prepares compensation data submissions on behalf of JCI. 

  • Audit, analyze and improve upon current compensation practices.

  • Serve as a reference for salary recommendations.

  • Compiles compensation, position and performance history data for use in preparing internal salary offers.  

  • Prepares year end incentive calculations as needed.

  • Performs and provides support to other compensation studies and/or benefits projects as required.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with JCI colleagues in HR and other key stakeholders.

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field

  • One to t two years of experience with all facets of broad-based compensation

  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles, namely performance evaluation, payroll, and benefits

  • Strong technical skills and understanding of the legal, labor, and economic environment of the assigned region

  • Ability to work toward deadlines, multi-task and operate in an environment with shifting priorities

  • Ability to build partnerships with your compensation team members, Human Resources, and managers, even when they are located in other parts of the world

  • Strong attention to detail balanced with the ability to “see the bigger picture”

  • Strong project management skills

  • Exceptional skills with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

Preferred:

  • Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, or data analytics

  • Experience with Workday
