My client is seeking a Finance Manager to play a critical role on the manufacturing leadership team by contributing to various aspects of plant management and providing financial and operational leadership within the Frames business segment. This position is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance, and leading various manufacturing financial analyses. Additionally, the role involves performing trend analysis and submitting monthly forecasts. The Plant Finance Manager has the opportunity to collaborate with operational leaders throughout the plant, offering new ideas and solutions that will benefit Herff Jones. This individual is expected to be eager to learn the business and add value across the plant. Acting as the right hand of the Plant Manager, the Plant Finance Manager advises on all operational and financial aspects, ensuring that plant priorities align with business and plant strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the plant manager and leadership team to maximize plant profitability.
  • Own financial reporting, accounting, planning, and support for the Frames facility.
  • Streamline financial processes and internal controls, sharing best practices with other plant controllers.
  • Implement and improve inventory processes and procedures, such as standard costing, cycle counting, and tracking.


What you will do:

  • Produce monthly and quarterly financial forecasts for the P&L, B/S, and cash flow statements promptly.
  • Guide the plant manager and team through financial performance reviews to understand plant/business performance against forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide insight and analysis on operational metrics impacting financials, such as overtime, attrition, cost per unit, and efficiency gains/losses.
  • Lead annual and ongoing physical inventory valuations and reconciliations across financial statements and systems (e.g., Oracle).
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring engagement from plant and customer service leadership throughout.
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Manage accounting operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure all fixed assets are capitalized/disposed of according to company policies.
  • Influence decisions in capital project planning and ROI analyses.
  • Drive improvements in accounting procedures to enhance controls, quality, and operational efficiencies.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as directed.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated self-starter with a strong desire to learn and the ability to deliver high-quality, accurate results.
  • Effective partnership with the Plant Manager and other key business leaders on initiatives.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to develop new ideas and solutions.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to completion.
  • Proven financial and analytical experience, including familiarity with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Education / Certifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Preference for candidates with a CPA or CMA and a background in Public Accounting.
  • 3-8 years of relevant finance and/or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
