Job Overview:

The Global Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our global sourcing and procurement strategies. This position requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in global purchasing, sourcing, and supplier management. The successful candidate will drive cost-effective procurement solutions, maintain strong supplier relationships, and ensure the seamless supply of materials and services across our international operations.

Key Responsibilities:


Global Sourcing & Procurement Strategy:

  • Develop and implement global procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and market conditions.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify and leverage global sourcing opportunities.
  • Establish and manage global supply chains to ensure continuity of supply and cost efficiency.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select global suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.

Cost Management & Optimization:

  • Analyze procurement data and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement cost-effective procurement practices while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
  • Develop and manage budgets for procurement activities, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including Sales, Finance, Production, and Logistics, to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with operational needs.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to support new product launches and modifications.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies in global procurement activities.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with global supply chains, including geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards in global purchasing and sourcing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, APICS) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in global purchasing and sourcing, with a proven track record of managing international supply chains.
  • Strong understanding of global market dynamics, procurement best practices, and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as advanced MS Office skills.
  • Work in both a tactical and strategic environment while maintaining a very hands-on approach.
