The Information Support Specialist I position is primarily responsible for day-to-day user support and customer service on company supported computer applications and platforms. This position will work as part of a team to troubleshoot and resolve problems and engage the appropriate resources to resolve the issue when necessary.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:.

  • Responds to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
  • Research required information using available resources
  • Follow standard Support Desk procedures
  • Route issues to appropriate resource
  • Document all issue information according to standard operating procedure
  • Log all Support Desk interactions with internal and external customers
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention or higher level of knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged standing and periodically lifting, stretching and twisting
  • Prolonged sitting and terminal use
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs periodically
  • Hand dexterity and strength
  • Work outside normal hours may be required, including some weekends

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed primarily indoors and in production type facility


Must Haves:

  • Minimum one year experience in a technical help desk setting
  • Proficient in computer operating systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of standard Microsoft desktop operating systems & MS Office applications
  • Ability to perform typical computer maintenance, repair, and user administration
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Plusses:

  • A degree in computer related field
  • A+ Hardware certification
  • ITIL standards certification
