Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated and talented Investment Banking Associate / Senior Analyst to join our team, preferably in San Diego. In this role, depending on experience, you will work on a variety of M&A transactions, working with ownership teams, leadership teams, and buyers and investors, to evaluate ideal transactions that accomplish the goals of our clients. You will be involved in all aspects of the deal process, from origination to execution, including industry and company research, building financial models, sell-side/buy-side due diligence, transaction materials preparation and marketing, and will have the opportunity to interact with the leadership team of our firm and our clients regularly.
Key Activities
- Perform financial modeling and valuation analysis, including discounted cash flow, comparable company, precedent transaction, asset-valuation, and leveraged buyout models.
- Conduct industry and market research.
- Prepare pitch books, offering memoranda, management presentations, and other marketing materials.
- Support deal execution and due diligence, including project management and detail-oriented coordination with clients, buyers, lenders, investors, and other advisors.
- Develop an understanding of our client’s business and the market ecosystem they operate in.
- Resourcefully leverage materials created by our firm and other resources available to our firm.
- Be prepared, to be client facing, which involves an understanding of what it means to be a professional working in the M&A industry.
- Develop industry expertise to support long-term initiatives
- Train and manage junior resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field with a strong academic record.
- Two to five years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or consulting.
- Strong critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and professionalism.
- Resourceful, ability to leverage prior resources and resources available to you.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- FINRA Series 63 or 79 Registered (Preferred, not required)
