Director of PMO

Our client is seeking a talented Director of IT PMO to lead the IT Project Management Office and drive the successful execution of high-priority technology initiatives.
Specifically, you'd be responsible for managing a team of project managers, business analysts, and solution specialists, ensuring projects align with organizational objectives and deliver measurable business value.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT project management methodologies, strong business acumen, and proven leadership skills to build a high-performing team capable of driving transformative organizational change.
You'll Provide:
- Strategic leadership - current state assessment, define future state technology strategy
- Leadership & Development - turn around and build a high-performing Dev team
- Business Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement
- Operational Excellence - Define SDLC, implement best practices ensure adherence
- Technological Leadership - define, champion and lead the adoption of the future state

Required Background and Experience:
- Experience: 8-10+ years of progressive IT project management experience, including leading complex, cross-functional projects and managing diverse teams.
- Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Strategic Vision: Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align IT initiatives with business goals, driving transformative organizational change.
- Project Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.), SDLC processes, and project governance frameworks.
- Budget Management: Demonstrated experience in managing project budgets, resource allocation, and financial tracking.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making at all levels.
- Change Management: Strong understanding of change management principles, with proven success in guiding organizations through significant transitions.
Additional background a significant plus:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or certifications such as PMP or PgMP are highly preferred.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, and experience implementing process improvements across IT teams.
- Knowledge of modern collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to enhance project visibility and efficiency.
