TSI ‘s service area covers Wisconsin, northern Illinois, eastern Iowa, and the U.P. of Michigan with distribution centers based in Madison and Green Bay.
Job Summary:
The Inside Commercial Applications Engineer is a technical advisor and commercial/product advocate. Regular duties include reading specifications & plans to configure, price, design and quote technical and financial solutions for customers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- To Be… Punctual, cooperative, dependable, and able to take direction;
- Responds to new business opportunities based on sales leads from Sales Managers and generate quotes for Commercial Sales with assigned accounts;
- Supports Sales team with new accounts, existing accounts, and introductions for new products to engineers and contractors;
- Technical support: Providing technical advice and training to mechanical engineers regarding TSI represented products;
- Completes bids, submittals, and take offs based on plan reviews and specifications in support of Commercial Sales;
- Extensive interactions with customers, manufacturers, and sales team via phone & email;
- Maintains professional business relationships with target or assigned accounts;
- Identifies and communicates customer’s needs and sales opportunities to help future growth;
- Travels as needed with Commercial Sales to support presentations and trade shows;
- Open and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Applied HVAC Equipment knowledge/ understanding preferred;
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or 4 years of relevant commercial HVAC experience;
- Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints;
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems;
- Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications;
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to present information to customers in group settings;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
- Solid problem-solving abilities with the competence to make recommendations.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Previous HVAC engineering role;
- Light commercial HVAC project estimating/sales experience preferred;
- Previous Manufacturer Representative experience;
- Field HVAC experience working with contractors;

From our distribution centers we provide delivery of product and supplies, along with providing an array of other services including training, business consulting, system design, and technical support, all for our HVAC dealers.
