Job Overview: Yama Sushi Marketplace is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Catering / Events Specialist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about sushi and Japanese culture, highly organized, and an exceptional communicator. As the Catering / Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of catering and events, ensuring an outstanding experience for our clients and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute catering events from start to finish, including corporate events, private parties, and special occasions.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Menu Planning: Collaborate with our culinary team to create customized sushi menus that reflect the unique preferences of each client.
- Logistics Management: Coordinate event logistics, including delivery, setup, and breakdown, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Marketing & Promotion: Develop and implement strategies to promote our catering services, including social media campaigns and community outreach.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our team of chefs and support staff to deliver exceptional service.
Qualifications:
- Passion for Sushi and Japanese Culture: A deep appreciation for sushi and Japanese culinary traditions is essential.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously.
- Self-Starter: Proactive and able to work independently, taking initiative to solve problems and make decisions.
- Experience: Previous experience in catering, event planning, or hospitality is preferred.
- Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate event schedules.
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
