Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Enhance and develop accounting systems and procedures that provide accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and career growth.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
